If you want to use Group Policy Folder Redirection for (my) DOCUMENTS or (my) DESKTOP:
- USER CONFIGURATION > WINDOWS SETTINGS > FOLDER REDIRECTION > DOCUMENTS
you can but it has to be to on an SMB share. Let me explain.
You can access a client PC from a Terminal Server using either:
BUT Folder Redirection is ONLY supported to the second of those options, an SMB SHARE. You cannot set your Group Policy Folder Redirection to:
- BASIC, REDIRECT TO THE FOLLOWING LOCATION, \\tsclient\c\
but you can set it to:
- BASIC, REDIRECT TO THE FOLLOWING LOCATION, \\%clientname%\share
Note that I confirmed with Microsoft Partner support that you CAN use both User Profile Disks AND GP Folder Redirection at the same time. (Thank you Steven at Microsoft)
